a little bit about us!
The Centre has been operating as a unique school since 1836
(see History). How cool is that!
We are in the service of the Western Cape Education Department (WCED), providing a variety of Environmental Education lessons and programmes around the environment for schools. We also provide enrichment experiences that cannot be replicated in the classroom. Our lessons are curriculum-based, relevant, activity-centred and fun.
We also have Africa’s only museum dedicated solely to education:
History of the Education Museum
A healthy environment for all is one of the principles of the constitution of South Africa. Environment, managing resources, sustainability, respecting our natural and cultural heritage, and issues such as biodiversity and climate change are part of many Subjects of the CAPS. We want to empower young people to be proactive in saving our earth, we have adopted the motto:
ENTER TO LEARN; LEAVE TO SAVE.
